WIBA 2025 FAQs

If you don't see your question, please send us an email: support@thewiba.com

Q: Are men invited to the WIBA conference?

A: Absolutely! Men and all genders are welcome and encouraged to attend and participate! We strive to make the Women in Behavior Analysis (WIBA) conference inclusive. Our goal is to foster an environment where diverse perspectives can come together to engage in meaningful discourse on gender equality, enhancing the field of behavior analysis, supporting our colleagues, and fostering professional growth.

We welcome everyone who supports our mission to empower, celebrate, and mentor women in behavior analysis while also highlighting the importance of diversity and inclusivity within the field.

Q: What can I do in Atlanta in my free time that aligns with the mission of WIBA?

A: Explore Atlanta’s Rich Cultural Scene! Atlanta is a vibrant city with a wealth of activities that resonate with WIBA's mission of empowerment, diversity, and mentorship.

Here are a few suggestions:

  • Visit the National Center for Civil and Human Rights: Learn about the civil rights movement and the ongoing global struggle for human rights, which can provide a meaningful backdrop to our discussions on gender equality and empowerment. https://www.civilandhumanrights.org/

  • Tour Spelman College Museum of Fine Art: As one of the oldest historically Black colleges and universities primarily for women, Spelman College offers a museum focusing on art by and about women of the African diaspora, enhancing our appreciation of diversity and the role of women in shaping our history and culture.

  • Explore the BeltLine: Enjoy artworks and public performances along the Atlanta BeltLine, which is a fantastic way to engage with the city's dynamic art scene and discuss the role of public art in urban environments.

  • Dine at Women-Owned Restaurants: Support local women entrepreneurs by dining at women-owned establishments across the city, celebrating the achievements of women in the culinary industry.

Each of these activities provides an opportunity to reflect on and engage with themes central to WIBA, from empowerment and history to diversity and community involvement.

Q: What are mentorship sessions?

A: Exclusive Mentorship Opportunities at WIBA! One of the primary missions of Women in Behavior Analysis (WIBA) is to mentor women in the field of behavior analysis. In line with this mission, we offer exclusive mentorship sessions during the conference. These sessions provide attendees with a unique opportunity to engage one-on-one with esteemed leaders and mentors in the field.

Details of the Sessions:

  • Date & Time: Thursday 5:15 - 6:15 pm

  • Duration: Each session lasts for 15-20 minutes, offering focused, personal guidance.

  • Availability: Each of our incredible mentors has only three to four slots available, making these sessions highly exclusive and limited in availability.

  • Sign-Up: Due to the limited availability, we strongly encourage you to sign up early to secure your spot. You can sign up for a mentorship session at the registration desk at WIBA. We encourage coming to the Creating Community Check-in event on Wednesday night to sign up for a mentorship session early when you pick up your badge. Pre-registration is required to participate in these sessions.

Embrace this opportunity to join and learn from prominent figures in the field of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA). These sessions are designed to guide and inspire you, providing tailored advice and insights that can help propel your professional journey. Don’t miss out on the chance to connect with a mentor who can influence your career and growth in significant ways.

Stay tuned for the list of mentors!
